Kirvis Torres Poveda, del Centro de investigaci\u00f3n en Enfermedades Infecciosas (CISEI) del Instituto Nacional de Salud P\u00fablica (INSP), recibi\u00f3 el premio\u00a0<i>\u201cBIOCODEX MICROBIOTA FOUNDATION M\u00e9xico 2024\u201d<\/i>\u00a0para el desarrollo del proyecto titulado\u00a0<i>\u201cPapel del Fusobacterium spp<\/i>\u00a0en la carcinog\u00e9nesis mediada por Virus del Papiloma Humano (VPH)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3986 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/aguilasalporvenir.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/INSP-Dra.-Kirvis-Torres-Poveda-y-su-grupo-reciben-premio-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"317\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aguilasalporvenir.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/INSP-Dra.-Kirvis-Torres-Poveda-y-su-grupo-reciben-premio-1-1.jpg 798w, https:\/\/aguilasalporvenir.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/INSP-Dra.-Kirvis-Torres-Poveda-y-su-grupo-reciben-premio-1-1-300x159.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aguilasalporvenir.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/INSP-Dra.-Kirvis-Torres-Poveda-y-su-grupo-reciben-premio-1-1-768x408.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Este reconocimiento otorgado por\u00a0<i>Biocodex Microbiota Foundation flial<\/i>\u00a0de la compa\u00f1\u00eda francesa independiente multinacional Biocodex, ofrece recursos a proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica innovadores sobre la microbiota y su relaci\u00f3n con la salud, y algunas de las enfermedades que m\u00e1s afectan a la poblaci\u00f3n a nivel mundial.<\/p>\n<p>Como antecedentes, en una investigaci\u00f3n de este grupo en la que se estudi\u00f3 la microbiota del c\u00e9rvix de mujeres mexicanas; los especialistas encontraron en casos de lesiones premalignas y c\u00e1ncer c\u00e9rvicouterino una mayor prevalencia de bacterias anaerobias tales como\u00a0<i>Fusobacterium spp. y Fusobacterium necrophorum<\/i>, relacionadas previamente con el c\u00e1ncer de colon, junto a niveles elevados de citocinas inmunosupresoras en el c\u00e9rvix. Asimismo, se report\u00f3 que la microbiota que predomina en mujeres sin lesi\u00f3n en c\u00e9rvix VPH negativas est\u00e1 compuesta principalmente por\u00a0<i>Lactobacillus helveticus y L. crispatus<\/i>, las cuales son bacterias ben\u00e9ficas y protegen de infecciones oportunistas en la regi\u00f3n cervicovaginal.<\/p>\n<p>Lo anterior, junto a reportes previos del grupo sobre alteraciones en mujeres con lesiones y c\u00e1ncer en la distribuci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas llamadas\u00a0<i>E-Caderina\/\u03b2-catenina<\/i>, las cuales tienen un posible v\u00ednculo con la formaci\u00f3n de tumores, llev\u00f3 a este grupo de investigaci\u00f3n a plantear qu\u00e9 papel pudiera tener la bacteria\u00a0<i>Fusobacterium spp<\/i>. en la carcinog\u00e9nesis del cuello uterino, especialmente en relaci\u00f3n con el VPH.<\/p>\n<p>La Dra. Kirvis Torres, quien liderar\u00e1 el proyecto acreedor al premio, es investigadora del CISEI-INSP, l\u00edder del Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n y Docencia (GID) Biomarcadores e Inmunidad.
